ALL PP Shunt Capacitor

ALL POLYPROPYLENE FILM FOIL, LOW LOSS Capacitors are manufactured by using Hazy polypropylene film, which is placed between two layers of metal foil and windings.


For use in Improvements of Power Factor of System consisting of Inductive Loads.

Specially recommended in critical applications when loads impose arduous service condition.

Such load consists of :

- Large D.C. drives / Inverters.
- Fluctuating loads such as Steel Rolling Mills.
- Inching loads such as Lifts; Cranes; Variable Speed Motors.
- Heavy duty Spot Welding Machine operation.
- Induction Furnaces.
- Arc Furnaces (To be used along with Series Reactors).

KVAR Range

1 to 25 KVAR in single units. With banking of single units, desired KVAR ratings can be achieved.

Rated Voltage & Frequency

415 Volts AC & 440 Volts AC are standard voltage ratings at 50 HZ. Capacitors for other voltages & frequencies can
be manufactured on request.

Temperature Range

55° C Ambient.

Phases & Connections

Three Phase (with internal Delta connection).

Losses in the Capacitor unit

Less than 0.5 Watts per KVAR.


Design Features

  • Hazy Polypropylene film used so as to achieve best impregnation.
  • Very low losses in the Capacitor unit. As such no internal hot spot.
  • With Oil impregnation, better cooling as such temperature rise of Capacitor is low in turn
    enhancing life of Capacitor.
